My Bassmaster Classic Support Team
On Wednesday, I wrote about why YOU might consider attending a Bassmaster Classic in the future. I shared some pictures of this year’s experience in Knoxville, but I was negligent in not calling out my “Classic Team.”
You know how every angler in the tournament has a support team – friends and family who make things happen, manage the daily grind and cheer them on? Well, I would not have been able to accomplish nearly as much, or have as much fun, without my friends Jennifer Combs and Donna Gaunt.
Jennifer, of course, is the wife of three-time TTBC winner Keith Combs. She’s joined me on multiple trips to Anglers Inn Lake El Salto and we frequently commiserate over our husbands’ quirks. She’s given me an insight into the life of a pro anglers’ family, and I try to calm her down when Bass Trakk isn’t pinging.
Donna has been a close friend since the first day of college back in…well, I’ll leave the date to your imagination. After college we were roommates until Pete made me choose between them…It wasn’t an easy choice as she snores less and is a lot cleaner. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding. Even today, she’s almost always the first one to like a Half Past First post on social media.
Do blondes really have more fun? Well, possibly, but in this case they let a redhead in on the excitement, too
