Looks Like Mazatlán is Having a Moment
On our first trip to Lake El Salto in December of 2009, our friends headed home after four days of fishing and Hanna and I proceeded on to Mazatlán for a few days of R&R. In hindsight, we should’ve extended our stay at the lake. There was nothing wrong with the city – the food was good, the weather was great, and we certainly needed the downtime – but it was unexceptional.
Since then, we’ve endeavored to fish for at least a week at a time whenever possible, but it may be time to revisit a beach vacation. They’ve made major upgrades to the infrastructure and amenities in the resort town, and our friends who’ve stopped over for a while have raved about the experience.
It’s not only popular among vacationers, but also retirees and digital nomads, too.
