If you want to be in the fishing industry, particularly the bass fishing side of things, and you’re not in Tulsa this week, shame on you. It’s one of your best chances all year to network and gather material and make a your presence felt.

The Bassmaster Classic is widely known as the “Super Bowl of Fishing.” I’ve been to about ten of them. Each one is different. It can be watched live on the internet, and more recently on the FS1 television station. Why would anglers or non-anglers want to attend?

A lot of people ask me if I’m ever in the office. They see my social media feed – which, I’ll admit, distorts reality a bit because I never post from work – and think I’m always in exotic locations traveling to fish. I wish that was the case. I manage my vacation time very carefully. In fact, I’m quite stingy with it.
