Our first four trips to Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala all occurred in February but in 2024 we had scheduling conflicts that forced us to move our trip to the latter half of the year. The late portion of 2024 produced some amazing sailfish catches for CVL.

Last month we told you that the fishing at Casa Vieja Lodge was off the chain in March, and that it was critical to book asap if you wanted to get in on it the same time next year. April was just as good, if not better, and the boats are already filling up for spring of 2025.

We’ve now gone to Casa Vieja Lodge in February for four straight years, and we’ve loved every minute of it. Fortunately, the captains and the lodge keep very detailed records of each boat’s raises, bites and releases. Accordingly, we have accurate numbers for our dozen days on the water.
