Costa’s Tuna Hats

Costa Del Mar has long been a leader in the fishing optics space, as well as in the marine industry generally. They have spearheaded projects like “Kick Plastic” and consistently work to give back. I got my first pair of Costas back in 1997 or 1998 and except for the fact that my roommate’s beagle chewed them beyond recognition a few years later, I’d likely still be wearing them. Fortunately, I’ve obtained several more pairs, with different frames and different lenses, in the intervening years.

We knew that they were huge in the freshwater space, but as we’ve moved into offshore fishing we’ve learned that their footprint is at least as large there. While they have gear dedicated to marlin, mahi and other species, I’m particularly enamored of their tuna repertoire, which includes four separate hats.
