More Omilu Wearables

Hanna Robbins with a Bluefin Trevally caught in Panama

The lure of our trips to Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge is yellowfin tuna with a chance at billfish, and even when we head inshore the marquee species at roosterfish and cubera snapper. That’s unfair to the Bluefin Trevally, the smaller, less-heralded, but just as powerful and more beautiful little brother of the GT.

We’ve had great fun battling the powerful inshore battlers, and I’ve previously documented some of the gear made in their image. There’s even more to be found, much of it from Hawaii, where the “Omilu” captures the attention of anglers, spearfishermen and divers alike. Here are some more to check out.

If you want to check an Omilu off of your personal bucket list, email us about a trip to Panama. Of course we cannot guarantee one, but we’ll put in the time inshore if that’s a priority.
