Peacock Bass Links

Pete Robbins with a three-bar peacock bass on the Rio Caures Barcelos Brazil

I’ve fished for peacock bass three times in Brazil and once in Florida and have probably spent far more time reading about them and talking about them than I have in the jungle. They were our first exotic species in an exotic location and really jumpstarted our love of fishing travel. They also made me consider tackle in a new way – as they tested every aspect of our gear in a way that other freshwater species had not.

We’re still trying to decide when we’ll go back to South America – in the meantime check out what we’ve published about this amazing group of cichlids:

Email Hanna today if you’d like to find out more or book a trip to the Amazon for the 2023-24 season.
