The Mayor of El Salto
The Crush City Mayor started winning tournaments for Rapala pros before it officially came to market. Several of the group members on our June 2024 trip to El Salto were tipped off that it was deadly in Mexico, too – not just for numbers of fish, but for true giants. When Hanna and I got back, we made the following order from Normark (parent brand of Rapala, Storm, VMC and others) to stock up for next year’s trip:
Foreign Language Pro Tip: Hanna never studied Spanish and she’s struggled to pick up pieces of the language. She often can’t distinguish between the Spanish words for woman, older and better. Accordingly, if she ask you for a “Mujer Swimbait” or a “Mejor Swimbait,” what she’s really asking for is the Mayor.
