Meet CJ Martin, Swimbait Hooligan
One of the best things about the Swimbait Universe Gathering was the diversity of the people, all brought together by their mutual big bait fetish. Fishing is already an egalitarian sport – after all the fish don’t care where your ancestors come from or what sort of genitalia you possess, but we still tend to stick to our own cliques.
It was almost disarming how welcoming everyone was. Despite being a generally-misanthropic introvert, I had no trouble going up to just about anyone and starting a conversation. In particular, vendors were excited to show off their wares and discuss the inspiration behind them. One of my favorites was CJ Martin of Swimbait Hooligans, who took my interview in good spirits.
