Next Generation Pez Vela
On three of our four trips to Casa Vieja Lodge we’ve fished with Captain Nicho Alvarenga and his son/mate Daniel. They’re a well-oiled, complementary team who work their butts off and never have anything but smiles on their faces – perhaps because their joint efforts often put them at the top of the day’s leaderboard.
We were thrilled to learn that there’s a new member of the next generation, Daniel’s daughter Ailany, and she’s rocking the Half Past First Cast colors in style. Maybe she’ll grow up to be the first female captain in the fleet. Knowing the family’s innate abilities and work ethic, we’ll be first in line to book a trip with her.
