Last summer Pete and I fished with Bryan Schmitt the Miss Ashleigh. Afterwards, I wanted to learn more about the woman for whom the boat was named. Bryan is a really accomplished angler but his relationship with his wife, Ashleigh, and their two kids, may be even more impressive.

When we headed out for a trip on the Chesapeake Bay with Bryan Schmitt, we knew it would be a great day, but we didn’t expect his 10 year-old son Dylan to be such a skilled and dynamic angler. He’s also a raconteur and educator, able to explain complicated fishing concepts and techniques in simple terms.
