Jumpstart the Season
In anticipation of another year of far flung travel and hopefully more fishing than in 2023 and 2024, I made an investment – not a new truck or boat, but something that’ll keep them both going – a portable 2000 am jump starter from Battery Tender. I’ve had one from another brand for well over a decade and have used it to salvage many days, and prevent multiple calls to a tow truck or tow boat. I also toted it to Bassmaster Classics and other tournaments where I used it to keep my phone or laptop charged in the boat in case my boat driver didn’t have an independent power source. On those 7 degree days, as well as the 97 degree ones, it seemed like I could watch my phone’s percentage tick down quickly. Without the jump box I wouldn’t have been able to do my job.
Why did I choose the Battery Tender version when there are so many others out there? I’ve used their DC Power Connectors to get a maximized flow of power to my trolling motor on my past two boats and they’ve been flawless.
This version may be overkill with 2000 amps, three USB outputs and even a carrying case. I hope I never have to use it, but based on past experience I’m guessing it’ll come in handy sooner rather than later for anyone else.
