Much Love for the Spinnerbug
The spinnerbait never stopped catching fish, but swim jigs, vibrating jigs, and small swimbaits have taken a sizeable chunk of their playing time. They overlap with square bills, too. Nevetheless, I still have a lot of affection for the safety pin creations that look like nothing found in nature, simply because I have so many good memories with them.
I’ve burned them for big northern smallmouths, slow rolled them over the grass of Texas, and I have one local lake where my top producer – by a wide margin – remains more or less the same blade that I used there circa 1997.
