Hanna’s Most Memorable Moments of 2022

Hanna Robbins 2022 Fishing Writing in Review

Frequently people ask me about my favorite trip or my favorite memory. I love them all – it’s like picking which one of your children you love the most. I can’t choose. Each one is special in its own way. I just love traveling, fishing and being with my people.

Still, some memories stand out after a great 2022. Fortunately, with this blogging platform I’ve had an opportunity to memorialize them almost in real time. Here are some of the ones I’ll treasure most:

Anglers Inn – Pat McGrathAge is DEFINITELY only a number. I got the opportunity to take a woman who has lived a very full life to one of her bucket list destinations and watch her catch bass – sharing my happy place made me feel terrific.

Leaping tarpon Islamorada

Islamorada Florida – Pete’s tarpon took him for a swim, literally. Everything happened so fast and then Pete went in. What would you do for a 150-pound silver fish?

giant smallmouth bass on Lake of the Woods near Morson Ontario

Ballard’s Black Island – If I didn’t have pictures, you might not believe me. The crazy morning that I pulled in five smallmouths over 5 pounds was out of control. And toward end the day I caught a (baby) musky. The whole trip was amazing but this day bumped it up to supersized

big ozarks bass on watermelon football jig

Table Rock Lake, Missouri – Experience brings knowledge but I realize there is so much I still need to learn. After many years of fishing I finally got to dial in a football jig, and then topped it off with a 5-pounder for proof of concept.

Pete Robbins Cubera Snapper Panama

Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge – When Pete wants something he will figure out a way to get it. Obsessing is part of the way. When Pete caught his cubera snapper it was as if he had won the lottery. The smile on his face was everything. Apparently, he still craves a bigger one so we’re going back in 2024.

Mark Jenson of Seattle with a yellowfin tuna in Panama

Half Past First Cast – Family – Pete and I have worked 24/7/365 to the last few years to provide you with the tools and information to keep fishing fun and to make the most of your remaining casts. We obsess over our analytics and SEO. Are people even reading our blogs? Are they watching our videos? And then Mark Jenson contacted us and replied that he has been following our adventures and wanted to join us, no questions asked, in Panama. Mark has a love for fishing like Pete does and since we’ve been home, we have still been in contact. These trips bring people together for many more casts to come.

Chatting with Angie Scott Woman Angler fishing podcast

My Growing Media Presence – You all know I can talk up a storm but being on a podcast, then a taped podcast and live on the radio. I did say I wanted to go viral and I like to keep my word. Be sure to check out:
