“Aloha, Mr. Hand”

Lateral Vision Black Aloha t-shirt and Mr. Hand from Fast Times at Ridgemont High

I’ve been to Hawaii twice – first for a month in the summer of 1992 to visit friends, and then on a family vacation in 2010 – but despite spending a lot of time there in and around the water, I did not fish at all. On my next visit there, whenever that may be, I’ll be sure to fix that, because there are of course a wealth of angling options. Kona is famous for giant marlin, and certain lakes and rivers have bass (plus peacock bass) and there are other species like ahi and ulua and omilu to keep me busy.

In the meantime, I’ll have to get my thrills from memories of those two great trips and by looking forward to the next one. If you are into both fishing and Hawaii, here are some fishing clothing options that might get you in the mood. All of them either come from Hawaii, are “Hawaiian styled” or otherwise suggest or mention something about the islands.
