Getting Old But Staying Young
They say that 50 is the new 40 and 40 is the new 30 and I believe that because I feel and “think” I look pretty darn good for 51 (yep, I said it).
Travel and fishing is our passion and whether you believe it or not both travel and fishing can be stressful on your body. Pete and I have dreams of retiring and traveling around in an RV and fishing all over the country and world (not in the RV).
We both have noticed the huge change in the aging process of our parents over the years. I remember when my parents were 51. They seemed sooooo much older than I feel now. Pete and I have vowed to continue our workout regime and our good eating habits (I can’t watch what Pete eats outside the house – the credit card receipts sometimes betray his unhealthy secrets. LOL).
When we return home we are ready to go to work the next day and don’t feel like we need a vacation from our vacation. We both attribute this to diet and exercise and understand that keeping the good habits up is a must.
If we are traveling full time but we don’t have the energy or ability to do so, what good is all of that freedom?
Imagine if we got a flat on the way to some incredible event and had to wait for someone else to come and change it.
What if we were fishing in rough water and couldn’t get up and down on the deck of the boat to net a fish of a lifetime?
If we were limited in any of those ways, our dreams would be wasted.
Our motto should be: No slacking and definitely no slack in your line.
Popcorn is a vegetable, right?
