Look Like a GT, Top to Bottom
Giant Trevally remains at or near the top of my bucket list of fish species. Every since seeing the famous sooty tern video (below), I’ve been obsessed. We had an invitation to fish for them this year, but the logistics are just too difficult given our preset work and travel schedule. My best guess is that we won’t chase them until 2026 or 2027.
My obsession has been further fueled by catching our first bluefin trevally in Panama, but until we actually go I’ll have to feed the fire by watching others’ videos and cataloguing a variety of GT gear, apparel and tattoos. While there’s a surprisingly good selection out there, until recently I’d never seen apparel meant to fully replicate a GT’s skin. Then I found Hotspot Design. They’re from Italy, so It appears that you’ll have to go at least to Europe to dress like this – maybe that can be your stopover on the way to the South Pacific.
