One Love
I can find no photographic or documentary evidence that famed reggae singer Bob Marley liked to fish despite the fact that he was from a country surrounded by water. In 2012 an Arkansas biologist named a small Caribbean crustacean after him, that’s still not enough to make the connection.
Nevertheless, if you’ve been waiting in vain to integrate a little Marley into your fishing game, you can certainly dress the part.
Indeed, there’s an entire company named after him that makes apparel — Bob Marlin
This year Pelagic Gear added a “Rasta Hex” color in their Ocean Master Fishing Shorts.
They have also taken several other attempts to catch Marley’s fire with the colors of the Jamaican flag
Bassaholics has their version
So does Hunter Skipper
Even Guy Harvey got in on the act
Montana may seem a long way from Jamaica, but Headhunters fly shop has their version
If you don’t want to represent on your body or your head, you can always channel Marley through your lures:
One intrepid angler named a fly aimed at British Columbia trout after the singer.
Australia’s Strada Pro Lures has a color pattern named after him
At one point Storm made this Wildeye Shad
And their partner company Rapala has made their DT Series to Ike’s specifications, including this color called “Rasta”
On Facebook I even found an entire company called Rasta Lures, although they haven’t updated anything since last year.
