I’ve recently determined that my favorite sort of fishing doesn’t involve a particular species, but rather a particular way to catch them – from Whopper Ploppers for bass to poppers for tuna to dry flies for trout, the common thread in the things I like best is the visual appeal of topwater strikes.

I also like beer, especially when used to celebrate those surface disruptions and the subsequent catches that result from them. Here are a few that combine those two thrills:
