My, What Big Teeth You Have – Daiwa’s Ardito Muskie Travel Rods

Hanna Robbins with a big St. Clair muskie caught on a Daiwa Rod

Most multi-piece travel rods are built for the lowest common denominator, made to handle a number of circumstances, none of them particularly well. Daiwa wants to change that in their US market, and one clear sign of that devotion is their new Ardito Muskie Travel Rods. They’re two 8’5”, five-section sticks made of premium components, in heavy and extra-heavy actions.

They’ll excel on toothy critters as advertised, but I can see even more applications for them – from arapaima to swimbaiting to saltwater popping.

We caught up with Chris Martin of Daiwa at January’s Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Expo and he was kind enough to lead us through the product lineup and the story behind them.
