There are typically more multi-piece spinning rods than baitcasting rods. They’ve recently added nine spinning rods or series. Whether you’re chasing bass, trout, walleye or saltwater critters, they probably have something you can pack on your next long-distance trip.

Tackle manufacturers are getting the message that two-piece rods and travel rods have a place for serious fishermen – perhaps not in tournament competition, but increasingly for those of us who fly to distant locations. Here are six new ones at Tackle Warehouse.

After a few years where it seemed like manufacturers introduced only lower- or mid-range travel rods, there is a resurgence in models. In addition to the Dobyns Kaden travel rods, including models dedicated to swimbaits and crankbaits, other brands have picked up the pace.

When western tournament legend Gary Dobyns introduced his rods nearly two decades ago, he went all-in with technique-specific tools at a variety of price points. Recently he added some specialized travel rods in the Kaden Series.

Most travel rods are made to handle a number of circumstances, none of them particularly well. Daiwa wants to change that in their US market, and one clear sign is their new Ardito Muskie Travel Rods. They’re two 8’5”, five-section sticks made of premium components.
