My Bass Fishing Hall of Fame Prize Pack Unbucketing
At its annual induction ceremony, the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame raises money through several means, with 100% of the proceeds funding the Hall itself and furthering the mission of celebrating, promoting, and preserving the sport of bass fishing through generous scholarships and conservation grants.
The silent and live auctions feature professional anglers’ signed jerseys, fishing trips with celebrities, and other items including apparel, tackle, rods, reels, electronics and more.
Pete likes to bid on the one-of-a-kind trips. I’m occasionally surprised to learn the outcome thereafter – fortunately, I do get to benefit from his bids. On the other hand, I’m not quite such a baller, I like to throw twenty bucks or so into the raffle buckets. I divide my tickets amongst the buckets and then listen for my number to be called.
The night was almost over when I heard: “XXXXX5096.”
