Chad Morgenthaler’s Ozarks Region Jig Selections

Chad Morgenthaler had been touring the country on the Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour before he moved to Missouri a few years back. He knew that a jig is a key tournament tool – particularly for big bass – just about anywhere, but once he started regularly fishing the Ozarks lakes he further dialed in his lure choices, sizes and colors for that area. He lives closest to Table Rock, but also sits a stone’s throw from Bull Shoals, Norfork, Lake of the Ozarks and many others.

He quickly realized that the jigs the exceled in Florida or Texas or Michigan might also work on his adopted home waters, but they weren’t always the best choices. Table Rock, for example, has loads of rocky cover, plus not only largemouths but smallmouths and spotted bass as well. That influenced his selections.

If you’re headed that way, pay attention to the following video to narrow down your choices.
