Here Comes the Bride
Not only is Anglers Inn a tremendous bass fishing wonderland but it’s also a place to unite two people’s love for one another. Spectacular sunsets and unforgettable backdrops provide a meaningful and unique place to tie the knot (not just the Palomar).
That’s right, church bells, a mariachi band, along aisle, flowers, family and friends can be the backdrop for your wedding -- and then you can ride off into the sunset in an Anglers Inn boat. It’s something you, your spouse and your guests will remember for a lifetime.
Let’s get married.
For our friends Amber Phillips and Duncan Maccubbin there was no question where they wanted to get hitched.
They’d known each other informally for 15 years before they fell in love. They might’ve stood next to each other at a buffet table at one of the Fairfax Bass Club Christmas parties, but sparks didn’t fly until they traveled to Mexico, at Anglers Inn, on Lake El Salto.
Fast forward a few years: their love of fishing brought them closer and closer and after a few more trips they decided to have and to hold, till death do them part. There was never a question about where it would happen: At the lake.
The event was so special and spectacular that our friends Aaron Rygas and Kristine Stewart (now Rygas) decided to follow suit. They got married at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay in Mazatlan (kudos to the Anglers Inn staff for handling the details), and then spent their honeymoon at Anglers Inn, Lake El Salto. I set them up in the honeymoon suite and surprised them with decorations and a three tiered wedding cake, shared with the lodge staff and guests.
Both celebrations were amazing. Amber and Duncan are now celebrities at the lodge. On every trip at least one person approaches them and asks, “Are you two the ones that got married here?”
If Anglers Inn Mexico isn’t your dream destination, perhaps Idaho could be it, The Willows Club by Anglers Inn International may be your place, with everything done the same Anglers Inn way – with service as the focus. Don’t think of these places as just a fishing destination. Any place that is service-oriented can likely host a similar extravaganza.
Making it even better, there’s good karma in getting married at the lake. On the eve of their wedding Duncan landed a 10 pound 8 ounce largemouth and Amber caught a 10-04….a match made in heaven.
